Clinical Secretary @ Family Practice Clinic

We are currently seeking a Clinical Secretary at Family Practice Clinic for Fulltime Day Shift.

JOB SUMMARY:
Clinical Secretary serves as a receptionist in the clinical area.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support Corporate mission to provide quality, cost-effective health care in a positive and productive work environment.
2. Adhere to corporate values of respect, quality service, teamwork, simplicity and creativity.
3. Attend all mandatory company in-services.
4. Promote and participate in performance improvement activities.
5. Maintain and update job description.
6. Comply with all applicable state and federal laws by conducting job in an ethical manner as outlined by Crittenden Community Hospital procedures and policies and in accordance with the Corporate Compliance Plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Answers the telephone and provides information to callers, route calls to appropriate personnel and records messages in patient chart and sends to appropriate Provider.
2. Sorts results for x-rays, lab, etc., by Physician and places in the appropriate box for doctor’s signature.
3. Interacts between patient and provider regarding results for lab, Xray, etc. Maintaining detailed patient and medical communications.
4. Document communications in patient’s chart.
5. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
6. Effectively communicates between provider and other staff as needed.
7. Receives calls from pharmacy, patients & other medical offices and documents information & refers to the Physicians & ARNP’s for approval.
8. Sends and receives faxes and distributes to appropriate provider or department. Waits for sent confirmation from fax machine, unless asked to call for confirmation.
9. Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner; keep surrounding area orderly.
10. Attend all corporate and department meetings as required.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION:
Education: High School Education
Experience: Physician Office or Receptionist experience preferred.
Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Must have excellent communication skills & rapport with patients, staff, Physicians & ARNP’s.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolong sitting or standing.
Repeated bending, stooping, and squatting.
