HIM Outpatient Clerk/Analyst
Crittenden Community Hospital is hiring for a Part-time HIM Outpatient Clerk.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director, maintains medical record integrity through scanning and assembling confidential patient records. Processes daily outpatient records and maintains the master patient index for outpatient records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Assembles outpatient and emergency room charts for analysis.
2.Performs incomplete chart analysis.
3.Reviews all charts after physician completion.
4.Organizes and scan loose reports or other outpatient medical record documents using the established system.
5.Scans all outpatient records or portions of the record.
6.Analyzes requests for medical information.
7.Performs clerical duties related to the processing of requests.
8.Answers telephone inquires related to the status of requests for medical information.
9.Prepares and scans outpatient charts and checks CD for correct chart information.
10.Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities.

13.Must attend all mandatory in services.
14.Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Health Systems policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Locates charts for audits and reviews for other hospital staff.
2.Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:

1.Completion of formal course in medical secretarial training or equivalent experience.
2.Background in medical terminology, basic anatomy, and physiology.
3.High school graduate with business courses to include working knowledge of computer processes, business English, and office procedures.
4.Any knowledge combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands require sitting, standing to file, and minimal lifting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office.
