Director of Home Health

JOB SUMMARY:
The department leader of home health is delegated the overall administrative management and operations of Marion Home Health Agency in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations which govern the agency to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. The department leader shall have the necessary authority to effect this responsibility. This individual always upholds and supports the corporate mission and vision statement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Supervises all Home Health personnel and activity involved with patient care.
2.Responsible for personnel/patient scheduling.
3.Direct input into hiring and orientation of all new Home Health employees and in the developing job qualification and descriptions for all employees service to patient.
4.Coordinates staff education.
5.Establishes and implements agency policies and procedures to meet current objectives.
6.Accountable for the overall management of Marion Home Health Agency.
7.Participates in the development of Marion Home Health Agency framework for the planning and design of health care services and ensures it’s implementation throughout the agency.
8.Ensures the mission and vision of the agency.
9.Ensures the mission, vision, and values and plans are communicated to all members in the aforementioned agency
10.Assists in creating an environment within the home health agency that fosters job communication and cooperation among individuals and services.
11.Promotes health care services that are productive in a cost-effective manner (trying to employ economy while maintaining as acceptable level of quality)
12.Assures the sound fiscal operation of the aforementioned agency including timely, accurate and comprehensive development of an annual budget and it implementation.
13.Plans for capital equipment through budget
14.Specifies personnel account abilities and evaluates performance regularly.
15.Pursues formal and informal education in health care management.
16.Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities.
17.Must attend all mandatory inservices.

20.Performs other related duties as assigned.
21.Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Community Hospital policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.
22. Shared On Call
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for the day to day operation of the agency.
2.Must be available at the agency or by telephone during all operating hours or provide for similar qualified alternate.
3.Provides both professional and supportive services to home health patients and coordination of all aspects of nursing care.
4.Maintains open line of communication with staff members, patients, families, physicians and other agencies involved with the patient.
5.Provides associates with information regarding the operation of the organization.
6.CPR certified. If not certified will have up to one year to complete.
EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
1.Current RN licensure. Minimum of an RN degree, BSN preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory position.
2.Ability to provide basic nursing care/general duties.
3.Ability to endure basic office activities, such as prolonged sitting, use of computer.
4.Knowledge of human resource management.
5.Knowledge of financial management.
6.Knowledge of regulations, guidelines, standards governing home health care.
7.Knowledge of accrediting body requirements for home health care.
8.Knowledge of organizational performance improvement concepts and tools.
9.Knowledge of office equipment and computer software, specifically WordPerfect for Windows, Excel, organizer, E-mail desirable.
10.Strong oral and written communication skills necessary.
11.Possess strong organizational skills.
12.Possess strong interpersonal skills.
