Home Health CNA
Crittenden Community Hospital has an immediate opening for PRN, Home Health CNA position.

The purpose of the home health aide is to provide personal care and basic homemaker services to the homebound patient. Population will include caring for prenatal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provide services in accordance with agency policies. Carry out procedures within their guidelines
2.Perform personal care for patients, such as bathing, oral care, foot care, nail care, and
dressing
3.Maintain good communication skills
4.Perform simple nursing procedures as an extension of therapy services, such as range of motion exercise, massage and skin care, and catheter care
5.Complete paper work as required by Medicare Conditions of Participation and as stated in departmental policies. Complete all required paperwork in a timely matter.
6.Assist the patient in ambulation and transfer
7.Provide simple household procedures essential to health care at home, such as disposal of infectious secretions, cleaning of soiled linen or clothing, proper disposal of food, or simple meal preparation and housekeeping which does not prolong stay or interfere with patient care
8.Performs other related duties as assigned
9.Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities

12.Must attend all mandatory in services
13.Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Community Hospital policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.

3.Assists in the orientation of new personnel when assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education, Training or Experience:
Nurse aide certification from approved nursing assistance course. If nurse aide was practicing prior to OBRA 87 mandate, nurse aide will be grand fathered in according to State Licensing and Regulation after completing competency evaluation and testing.
Nurse aides who already have certification from an approved nursing assistance course will be considered for open position. If a nurse aide has not been certified, the individual may attend course to become certified. Competency testing may be waived if the individual has had experience in the same position for 1 year. If an individual has been out of the health care setting for more than 12 months, an evaluation is to be completed by the home care agency with skills being demonstrated prior to orientation.
Attend 12 continuing education hours per calendar year in order to maintain certification. This may be video tapes, written material, or in services
Must have working automobile available for use on daily basis, responsible for maintenance on vehicle
Responsible for providing proof of insurance coverage upon request CPR certified. If not certified, will have up to 3 months to obtain certification.
