Registration Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Registration Supervisor position.

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists with managing and coordinating the daily operations of the Admissions Department. Assists with the implementation of the admission policies, and with coordination of admitting procedures with the activities of other departments. Assist with implementation of new programs and procedures to improve services, operations, and efficiency of the corporate mission and values. Assist the Controller and CFO with the overall direction regarding departmental priorities and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordination and oversight of the daily activities of the Admitting Department, including centralized scheduling, financial collection, DSH, Contract Billing, switchboard and cashiering.
2. Ensures proper procedures are in place to maximize efficient capturing of data when registering and posting patients and their accounts.
3. Attends and participates in regular staff meetings for the purpose of improving the performance of the department and the services provided. Helps inform and educate the staff on any procedural changes.
4. Oversees preparation of the department’s work schedule. Ensure minimum staffing requirements are maintained at all times.
5. Oversees that insurance verification and benefits are obtained from third party payers.
6. Oversees upfront collections activities and cash drawers.
7. Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities and insures data is collected on departmental CQI indicators.
8. Monitors that self pay inpatients are interviewed to determine if a financial aid program is appropriate. If not, then that financial information is obtained from the patient to determine the appropriate course to follow for hospital reimbursement, and follow up letters and phone calls are made as necessary to determine final outcome on financial reimbursement.
9. Responsible for hiring and overseeing the training for new clerks. Disciplining and completing evaluations for existing clerks.
10. Will work regularly scheduled shifts in Patient Accounting and also provide back up relief or additional coverage as needed, being on call or scheduling other employees to be on call.
11. Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities.

13. Attends all mandatory meetings.
14. Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Community Hospital policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares reports as requested.
2. Trains new employees as necessary.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
1. High School diploma or GED
2. One-two years of college preferred.
3. Two years experience in a medical setting with billing/admissions experience preferred.
4. Computer skills are required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to sit and work with a PC throughout the workday. Able to speak clearly and distinctly over the phone. Minimal lifting, usually not over 5-15 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment with room temperature regulated.

EXPOSURE CATEGORY: OSHA category II.
