Crittenden Community Hospital has an immediate opening for Full-time Food Service Manager.
The Food Service Manager assists in supervising and instructing employees who prepare and serve meals. This includes supervision and instructing in maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety and in operation and care of equipment. The Food Service Supervisor manages and coordinates the dietetic services and activities of the dietary department in order to provide quality care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for: food service budget, establishing policies and procedures, staff development, scheduling and assisting training of food service associates and hire and termination of food service personnel.
2.Assists in developing a dietary department manual, including policies and procedures on all phases of the dietary organization and operation.
3.Provides evaluation of the job performance of dietary personnel.
4.Plans, organizes, and conducts orientation and inservice education programs for food service personnel.
5.Consults with executive leader regarding operational problems.
6.Purchases and receives food orders and assists with stocking all groceries and supplies.
7.Makes sure all old stock is moved to front and new is put in back; keeps a record of all food and non food items bought.
8.Does an inventory on all items ordered.
9.Makes out monthly work schedule.
10.Posts monthly food temperature check list for refrigerators and freezers.
11.Posts monthly cleaning check list for kitchen.
12.Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities
13.Visits patients to determine food preferences, intolerances and allergies.
14.Assist Certified Nutritionist/Registered Dietitian in therapeutic diet and food and drug interaction education.

17.Must attend all mandatory inservices.
18.Works full time in kitchen, while maintaining manager duties also covers shifts in kitchen when short staffed and helps employees in kitchen daily.
1.Performs other duties as assigned.
2.Assists in the planning of orientation, training, supervision and evaluation of diets.
3.Assists in training and supervising other personnel.
4.Assists in supervising sanitation procedures and assists in maintaining safety standards.
5.Assists in doing nutritional assessments on all patients as needed.
6.Assists with food and drug interaction education.

EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
1.High school diploma or GED.
2.Some supervisory experience in commercial food service is preferred.
3.Must be knowledgeable in computer skills
4.Completion of the Dietary Managers course at an accredited university recommended but not required.
5.Certification by the Dietary Managers Association recommended but not required.
1.Standing for long periods of time and most of the work day.
2.Stooping, lifting moderate weights of at least a minimum of 25lbs
3.Frequently pull and push items.
4.Walking for short distances within the building and across campus
5.Tolerate changes in room temperature and warm temperatures
6.Work with both hands at countertop levels, approx 42” in height.
7.Work in close quarters and move throughout the department
Well lighted and clean environment, ergonomically correct.
